McCauley Mountain is located 2.5 miles from Old Forge and offers something to do all seasons of the year.  During summer and fall, ride the chair lift to the top and enjoy the view.  In the winter ski our 633 foot vertical drop, 14 - 21 trails, 3,000 to 5,000 feet in length and be zipped back to the top on our double chair lift, T-bar lifts or by a rope tow. It may not be the largest of ski areas, but it will offer a challenge to the best of skiers.

Two Olympic skiers have come from Old Forge, including 1975 world professional alpine ski champion, Hank Kashiwa. McCauley Mountain is know as "the most challenging little mountain in central New York". Average annual snowfall is 200" and can be as much as 400". With snowmaking on 65% of the trails, McCauley  Mountain is able to offer an average base of 120 PLUS inches and 105 days of skiing on the average. McCauley Mountain's ski lodge is a cozy place to warm up and relax with a bite to eat. Downstairs is the Ski Rental Shop where the newest equipment is available. The shop also provides clothing and accessories.  

McCauley Ski School offers lessons geared to all skill levels. The wide variety of trails, along with licensed Adirondack guides providing technical advice, help each "student" advance to their fullest potential.

McCauley Mountain offers 20km of challenging cross country trails, that are tracked and groomed, ranging from Novice to Expert. These trails are through some of the most beautiful woodlands in the Adirondack Mountains.
